1. Hat Yai / Hatyai
Stay
About the destination: Hat Yai is the largest town in Songkhla Province and the fourth largest in Thailand. Many travelers pass through from and to Malaysia, lending it a cosmopolitan feel that is unique to the area. It is well known as a travel hub, a medical centre and a shopping haven for Thais. Hat Yai’s appeal is different from Koh Samui’s or Phuket’s and it is an extremely popular tourist spot for Malaysians and Singaporeans meaning that prices are subsequently high and that you won’t see many western faces here except as transit visitors. Getting around town is fairly easy and cheap by motorcycle taxi and cabs. Hat Yai has a reputation for being a shopping destination for both Thais and foreigners. There are numbers of department stores, shopping malls and markets throughout the city. Kim Yong market (also Gim Yong) is a famous market located in the center of Hat Yai, Songkhla.

2. Koh Lipe
Stay
About the destination: Koh Lipe is a small island in the Adang-Rawi Archipelago of the Strait of Malacca, in Satun Province of southwest Thailand, close to the Malaysian border. Koh Lipe is on the border of the Tarutao National Marine Park and is directly south of the larger islands Ko Adang and Ko Rawi, and about 50 km from the island of Ko Tarutao. During high season there are several locations from which travellers can take a ferry or speedboat to Koh Lipe, including: Ko Lanta, Pak Bara, Phi Phi, Trang, and Langkawi. During low season, the only way to get to Koh Lipe is by speedboat from Pak Bara. Koh Lipe has three main beaches: Sunset Beach, Sunrise Beach, and Pattaya Beach. The calm, clear water makes Koh Lipe ideal for snorkeling, with 25 percent of the world's tropical fish species found in the area. Development on the island is rapidly growing to meet the increase in tourism, leading to issues with waste management, wildlife conservation, and energy supplies. Upon arrival at Koh Lipe you must pay a National Park admission fee and environmental fee. Koh Lipe is a relatively undiscovered paradise and is one of the most popular islands in Thailand.

3. Ko Muk
Stay
About the destination: Welcome to Koh Muk, Thailand's Hidden Gem Nestled in the Trang Province of Thailand, the enchanting island of Koh Muk offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the more frequented tourist destinations. Often overshadowed by its more famous neighbors, Koh Muk, also known as Koh Mook, remains a pristine paradise for those seeking an authentic Thai island experience. The island's name translates to "Pearl Island," and true to its moniker, it is indeed a pearl amidst the Andaman Sea, waiting to be discovered by intrepid travelers. The Jewel of Koh Muk: Emerald Cave The island's star attraction is the breathtaking Emerald Cave or Morakot Cave, accessible only by boat. This hidden lagoon is encircled by towering limestone cliffs and can be reached by swimming through a dark, mysterious 80-meter tunnel. As you emerge into the sunlight, you'll be greeted by a secret beach with powdery white sand, surrounded by lush vegetation—a scene straight out of a movie. The emerald green water owes its vibrant color to the sunlight filtering through the cave's entrance, giving the whole area an ethereal glow. Visit during low tide and with a guide to ensure a safe and awe-inspiring experience. Tranquil Beaches and Authentic Thai Culture Beyond the Emerald Cave, Koh Muk's beaches are a tranquil retreat for sun-seekers and nature lovers. The most popular beaches include Farang Beach, with its soft white sand and clear, calm waters, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Ao Kham and Ao Sabai offer more secluded spots where you can relax under the shade of casuarina trees and enjoy the peaceful ambiance. As a still relatively untouched island, Koh Muk provides a unique opportunity to engage with local Thai culture. The island's small village life is a world away from the tourist-centric areas of Thailand, with friendly locals and traditional Thai cuisine that is both delicious and affordable. Activities and Accommodations For those looking to be more active, Koh Muk does not disappoint. Kayaking, snorkeling, and diving are excellent ways to explore the vibrant marine life and coral reefs surrounding the island. There are also opportunities for rock climbing and trekking for adventure enthusiasts. At the end of an eventful day, unwind in a range of accommodations that cater to various budgets, from cozy bungalows to more luxurious resorts. Each offers a comfortable stay with the warm hospitality that Thailand is renowned for. Koh Muk is a destination that promises a tranquil yet adventurous experience, away from the crowds, in a setting that feels like a well-kept secret. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, this charming island is sure to create lasting memories of your time in this beautiful corner of Thailand.

4. Ko Libong
Stay
About the destination: Ko Libong, Trang's largest island, is 30 minutes by long-tail boat from Hat Yao Ban Chao Mai Pier. Less visited than neighbouring isles, Ko Libong is known for its flora and fauna as much as for its beaches. The island is home to a small Muslim fishing community and has a few resorts on its west coast beaches. On the east coast of Ko Libong at Laem Ju Hoi is a large area of mangroves protected by the Botanical Department as the Libong Archipelago Wildlife Reserve.[citation needed] Ko Libong's sea channels have sea grass, a favorite food of the rare dugong, making the Libong Wildlife Sanctuary one of the last habitats of the species. Around 180 of the creatures survive there.
